Professional biography

Summary of professional experience
My most recent role has been that of Clinical Director of Maternity Services at Bacchus Marsh Hospital. I have led the unit through a difficult transition from a period of crisis in 2016 to its current stable position over the last 4 years. This change has been achieved via a combination of numerous quality and safety initiatives and clinical education.
I am currently a Federal Council Member for RANZCOG. I am passionate about combining my interests in clinical medicine, safety & quality and inter-professional education in a variety of different roles that complement each other. I have the skills and ability to provide the leadership that engages the entire team and motivates them to achieve the best possible outcomes.
I have chaired the Victorian maternity eHandbook subcommittee and been a member of the perinatal insight committee. Combining my interest in training with evidence based practice, I am a faculty member for both PROMPT training as well as the MSEP program.

Summary of incident review experience
I was instrumental in setting up the maternity mortality and morbidity committee at Werribee Mercy Hospital as well as at Bacchus Marsh Hospital. I have conducted a number of serious incident reviews at both hospitals and made recommendations for improvement in practice. I have participated as a committee member of the Western Perinatal Loss Review Committee. I am currently a member of the Perinatal Insight Committee at SCV.
My interest in evidence based medicine has led to my membership of the guideline development committee at RANZCOG as well as being Chair of the maternity guideline committee for Victoria.
