Participating health services receive funding and support to employ a full-time Improvement and Innovation Advisor.
Each service has an executive sponsor who supports the Advisor to undertake their improvement and innovation role.
Throughout the year health services take part in knowledge sharing and capability building activities.
What does the Improvement and Innovation Advisor do?
Champion improvement science
Demonstrate how it can help to understand and address the problems faced by the health service
Uplift the capability of staff to help improvement initiatives achieve sustainability
Act as a subject matter expert with a repository of knowledge and understanding and links to wider sources of expertise.
Advisors have a broad range of knowledge, skills and experience in:
- Improvement science
- Change management
- Staff engagement
- Data and analytics
- Systems thinking / operational excellence
- Consumer engagement
- Project management.
We also provide a range of professional development opportunities to develop and support staff in the Advisor roles.
