What do you get when you mix analysts, developers, managers, academics, vendors and health practitioners?
An innovative forum where shared goals are discussed, solutions are considered, and collaborative relationships are born.
CHAI-T is a monthly, Melbourne-based forum on healthcare business intelligence (BI) and data analytics. It aims to support cross-organisational, multi-disciplinary knowledge sharing and peer-learning for health BI professionals. The forum was started in early 2012 by a group of BI professionals working across Victorian hospitals, and has gone from strength to strength.
CHAI-T has grown both in size and diversity to become a community of over 500 members. Every month, approximately 50 members attend the two-hour forum, featuring two presentations, followed by open-floor discussions. Topics covered in CHAI-T include BI tools and software, data warehouse design, BI innovation and case studies, but the scope is anything about data in health care.
The current organiser of CHAI-T, Knight Wang, is a senior data analyst from VAHI. Knight is one of a number of VAHI staff who benefit from the information sharing and collaboration that happen at the monthly meetings.
The group is open to all and the events are free. The forums are held on the last Friday of each month in Melbourne CBD.
