We are seeking clinicians with a passion for driving positive change for the health of all Victorians, to join our 2021-22 Clinical Fellowships program.

Our 12-month program is the only one of its kind in Australia and is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills as a leader in healthcare improvement. To give you an idea of what’s involved, we spoke to some of our past fellows about their experience of the Safer Care Victoria Clinical Fellowship Program. 

To those who applied for the Clinical Fellowship 2020, we apologise again for the program being withdrawn due to COVID-19. We welcome and encourage you to apply for the 2021-2022 program.

Who should apply?

We are looking for mid-career clinicians from all fields and specialities to lead a number of priority projects with SCV.

  • Contribute to delivery of an improvement project, including undertaking research, analysis and implementation.
  • Learn valuable project management skills, including resourcing, timelines, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation.

Please read the position description and apply online, submitting the following documents:

  • Short cover letter which includes the projects you would like to be considered for.
  • An up-to-date CV of no more than three pages.
  • One page that answers the following questions:
  1. Where will you be in five years’ time in your career and how will this opportunity help you achieve this goal?
  2. What unique elements will you bring to the fellow’s cohort in 2020?
  • A letter from your direct line manager supporting your fellowship application. This letter should confirm your attendance, if shortlisted, on 22 March 2021 for an assessment day and, if successful, that you can commence with Safer Care Victoria on 26 April 2021.
  • Email your completed documents to by Wednesday 10 March 2021.

Applications close Wed 10 March 2021.

If you are shortlisted, you must be available to attend an assessment day at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Brunton Ave, Richmond VIC 3002 on Monday 22 March 2021 and, if successful, a virtual panel interview to follow.

Please note the program starts on Monday 26 April 2021. Successful fellows are expected to commence on this date.
