Clinical/acute care

Recognition and response systems are facing increasing demand in our hospitals, with a rapid response call activated about every 15 minutes in Victoria.

Together with healthcare staff and consumers, we have developed a suite of new resources to help clinicians and hospitals improve their recognition and response systems.

View our new resources

  • Governance and clinical engagement frameworks

These will support you in detecting and caring for the acutely deteriorating patient. These frameworks presents what ‘exemplar’ governance and clinical engagement in recognition and response system looks like.

  • Self-assessment tools

These will help you identify where your recognition and response system could improve.

  • Change package

This contains practical tips, ideas and a step-by-step guide to planning, testing and sustaining improvement

Seven health services have tested these resources, and all saw improvement in their recognition and response systems.
