We are seeking expressions of interest from health services and consumers to join our project to improve the timely recognition and escalation of care for children with suspected or confirmed sepsis.
Consumers
Are you a parent/carer of an infant, child or adolescent receiving healthcare in Victorian hospital/s and have:
- recent experience (within the past three years) working in consumer engagement, providing feedback and advice to facilitate strong consumer partnering (familiarity with National Standards, Partnering with Consumers Healthcare Standard is desirable)
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the project team to co-design project initiatives
- an ability to look beyond personal experiences and passions and discuss broad based issues/ topics and impacts on families across Victoria.

Become a pilot site
We are looking for metropolitan and regional health services that provide paediatric emergency department and inpatient services to co-design and implement quality improvement initiatives to improve care for children with suspected or confirmed sepsis.
Is your health service:
- Interested in participating in a project with other health services to enhance care for children with suspected or confirmed sepsis?
- Committed to ensuring that parental concerns are integral to the identification of the unwell child with suspected or confirmed sepsis?
- Interested in building knowledge and capability in improvement science?

How to apply
Consumers
Applications close 5pm on Friday 23 July 2021.
- Complete the consumer EOI form
- Email the form together with a copy of your resume (or a document that helps understand your skills/experience) to paediatric.clinicalnetwork@safercare.vic.gov.au
Health services
- Seek approval from your Chief Executive Officer, Director of Paediatrics, emergency department (ED) medical and nursing representatives and select your project team.
- Complete the application form which includes endorsement for participation in the project from your health service representatives
- Email your application to paediatric.clinicalnetwork@safercare.vic.gov.au
