Older people

This expression of interest has now closed.

Safer Care Victoria and the Care of Older People Clinical Network are looking for clinicians and consumers to help drive a collaborative project to improve health outcomes for older people.

The project, ‘End PJ paralysis: Preventing functional decline in inpatients’ reduces functional decline by encouraging patients to wear everyday clothes and stay mobile. It is based on the successful UK National Health Service patient and clinician engagement model and is all about redefining the ‘sick role’ and empowering patients to be an active participant in their healthcare journey.

Who are we looking for?

We’re after both clinicians and consumers to participate in the expert working group.

In particular we need clinical leaders with experience in identifying, implementing and monitoring best practice approaches to preventing functional decline, or consumers with lived experience as a hospital inpatient or a carer.

What’s involved?

As a member of the expert working group you will:

  • provide clinical or consumer leadership and advice to Safer Care Victoria
  • decide on the metrics to be monitored throughout this collaborative
  • have a unique opportunity to share innovations and improvements across the Victorian healthcare system
  • assist SCV and the network in mentoring and coaching participating health services through the collaborative process.

How do I join?

To apply please download the application pack below. Applications close 5pm Friday 6 July 2018.
