Q. What are your top tips for those of us just learning to be brave when it comes to dealing with online trolls?

There is no quick, easy or one-size-fits-all answer to this question as everyone has a different experience, a different public profile and different levels of fear/stress tolerance. The smartest thing is to be as knowledgeable as possible. Inform yourself about the risks and protections available - eg. check out the website for the Commission for e-safety. Take it very slowly and proceed with caution. And if you feel overwhelmed - GET OFF SOCIAL MEDIA ASAP!! The world/cause/issue can get on without you.

Q. What’s one change that you made in the crisis of 2020 for the better?

Self care. I took the opportunity to slow down and look after myself and my health.
Q. We hear that you’re a big fan of Professor Brett Sutton, how does it feel to be on the same line-up as Bretty?

I am almost as excited as he is!!

Catch more from Magda at GIANT STEPS 2021 on Wednesday 12 May. If you haven't already got a ticket, you can grab one here.
