Communication is the most commonly complained about aspect of healthcare and it impacts a consumer's overall experience.
For this reason, Safer Care Victoria is trialling the new ‘Your thoughts matter’ program in two health services to help clinical and non-clinical health service staff improve their communication skills.
We're looking for consumers to join our implementation advisory committee and help us roll out this initiative.
About Your thoughts matter
Delivered in partnership with Deakin University, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service and Wimmera Health Care Group, Your thoughts matter will deliver targeted education for all staff who interact with patients.
The program will drive organisational change in person centred healthcare and complement our Partnering in healthcare framework.
Who are we looking for?
Consumers with knowledge of the public healthcare system who can participate in regular committee meetings.
What's involved?
As a member of the committee, you will:
- provide advice on implementation issues
- help communicate the project to healthcare organisations
- support the development of project resources
- facilitate engagement and resource co-design with local consumer groups
- provide ongoing evaluation of the implementation process and identify areas of improvement.
