So much work goes on behind-the-scenes to keep Victorian patients safe when they most need help.

Marking International Patient Safety Day on 17 September, staff from Safer Care Victoria and the Victorian Agency for Health Information will be sharing their work. We hope it will help show how it takes all levels working together to create a safer health system.

“In my role I am lucky to hear these wonderful improvement stories every day – how staff from all kinds of agencies and all clinical or non-clinical areas are continually working to create better, safer care,” Safer Care Victoria CEO Prof Euan Wallace said.

“There is much work that you will never hear about that is helping to keep you safe. So this International Patient Safety Day, we are looking forward to sharing these positive stories with you, and with the rest of the world.”

You can meet our staff and read about their work, by following #patientsafetyday on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

“At VAHI, we’re working to drive improvements in health service quality and across Victoria. This International Patient Safety Day, we’re looking forward to hearing other people’s stories, as well as sharing a few of our own,” VAHI CEO Dr Lance Emerson said.
