Victorians living in rural and regional areas are more likely to experience heart disease and present to hospital with the symptoms of a heart attack.
Unfortunately, access to time critical review and treatment at onset of a heart attack can be delayed in smaller regional health services impacting access to best practice care and placing residents at risk of poor health outcomes.
This project is looking at improving chest pain management in rural Victoria through the establishment of a regional chest pain management pathway and the development of a digital ECG network for timely 24/7 ECG interpretation for urgent care centres.

This project is part of the Care closer to home package, along with:

To improve timely triage, diagnosis and managed of patients presenting to urgent care centres with chest pain.
