In response to a Coroner’s recommendation, Safer Care Victoria has reviewed protocols and procedures for home haemodialysis across Victoria, with the aim of developing a more standardised approach to delivering home haemodialysis and improving patient outcomes.

Safer Care Victoria hosted a webinar which outlined the recently developed recommended minimum standards for providing haemodialysis at home. The goal of these standards is to improve patient outcomes and reduce unwarranted variation in care and support provided to patients on home haemodialysis.

The intended audience was health professionals from Victorian health services that enable haemodialysis to be performed at home.

This webinar was presented by Associate Professor Christine Somerville (Nephrologist at Barwon Health and Chair of DHT-EWG) and moderated by Associate Professor Peter Mount (nephrologist at Austin Health and Renal Clinical Lead at Safer Care Victoria).
