As pressure on hospital systems builds due to ageing populations and increased prevalence of chronic diseases, health services are increasingly turning to data analytic driven approaches to inform much needed system evaluation and redesign, improve flow through hospitals and deliver better patient outcomes. CSIRO’s work in statistical modelling, artificial intelligence and discrete event simulation aims to help hospitals deal with these challenges by providing their services in more efficient way.
This seminar will discuss various projects, focusing on different parts of the patient journey through hospital, further outlining how they have come together to offer a whole of hospital solution to patient flow. Hospital avoidance related solutions will also be discussed as a further factor influencing the sustainability of our health care services and patient quality of life.
