Please join us on Wednesday 26 June from 3:00 pm when we welcome Emeritus Professor David Dunt and Professor Erwin Loh to share their extensive experience and insights on public reporting of hospital performance data. 

The presentation will explore senior medical directors’ perceptions of public reporting of hospital performance data, how public reporting contributes to quality improvement with health services and how that can be improved.

We will hear about next steps to advance public reporting of hospital performance data in Australia, including engaging clinicians and patients in selection and development of metrics, improving timeliness of reporting, and improving communication of information so that it is accessible and meaningful for different audiences.

Emeritus Professor David Dunt

Emeritus Professor David Dunt, MBBS PhD FFPH is the Founding Director of the Centre for Health Policy, Programs and Economics, Melbourne School of Population Health, The University of Melbourne.

Professor Duntis a medically-trained public health specialist and epidemiologist with major interests in health services research and health program evaluation. He has a keen interest in the evaluation of complex government health care programs, combining his epidemiological and social sciences expertise.

Professor Dunt has extensive experience in health service evaluation. He has published studies of the impact of Public performance reporting with other colleagues at Melbourne University.

Professor Erwin Loh

Professor Erwin Loh is the national Chief Medical Officer and Group General Manager Clinical Governance for St Vincent's Health Australia, the nation’s largest not-for-profit health and aged care provider.

Professor Loh is qualified in both medicine and law, with general and specialist registration as a medical practitioner (medical administration specialty). He is also a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and High Court of Australia. He also has an MBA, Master of Health Service Management, and PhD in management.

Professor Loh is Chair of the Victorian State Committee and Board Member of the Royal Australasian College of Administrators. He is adjunct Clinical Professor at Monash University, where he leads the Clinical Leadership and Management Unit at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation.
